Up-dated version of Code of Conduct of Pharmaceutical Industry entered to force on January 1st, 2008 - 3 annexes from year 2007 have been incorporated into the code.

• Up-dated version of Ethical Code of Pharmaceutical Industry in Slovakia is valid from April, 1st 2006 >

Since April, 1st 2006 up-dated version of Ethical Code of Pharmaceutical Industry is valid. The Code is divided into 2 parts: Ethical Code and Statute of Ethical Committee together with Operating Procedures of Ethical Code.

Ethical Code is prepared in accordance with standards of Ethical Code of EFPIA (The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations). Adherence of the Code is supervised by Ethical Committee. The Committee has nine members, six of them are representatives of member associations and three members are external – one is pharmacologist, one doctor with active practice and person emerging in the field of medical ethics.

Main mission and intention of Ethical Committee is to supervise the adherence of ethical principles in promotional activities and marketing practices of member companies, just as they are initiated in Ethical Code of Pharmaceutical Industry and share actively on creation of new establishments and education of member associations in the field of ethics.

Ethical Code of Pharmaceutical Industry is available in Slovak and English language for professionals as well as lay public at the following web sites of member associations: www.safs.sk or www.adl.sk.
